Car Wash

Austin and Beth, who were new volunteers at the time, playing around during a car wash fund raiser organized by the NDYC. We spent a morning in the car park of a Portsmouth gas station and got drivers to stop and get their car washed, something I had never done before. lol

Dominicans are rather obsessive about their car maintenance and a lot of them not only wash their vehicles daily but are also self-taught mechanics on some level or another. More transports are second hand and need a lot of attention, which I suppose explains it. I often joked that if Dominica men took half as much care of and were half as faithful to their vehicles as they were to their girlfriends/wives there would be a lot more happy women around. 😉
